Meet Lisa Loudermilk · Austin Artist of the Month

Every first Sunday of the month, Unchained.Art Contemporary Gallery invites one Austin artist outside the gallery’s represented roster to co-curate a dedicated wall and show their work for the full month.

Loudermilk’s paintings push minimalism past its own limits. She calls it Baroque Modernism: paint rolled and cut with plastic tools, metallic films sealed under resin, every previous layer staying visible in the final work. The result shifts depending on where you stand and how the light hits it. Her process is as precise as it looks, and her collectors, many of them engineers, often want to know exactly how it is done.

On October 4, Loudermilk joins us from 12 to 4PM to introduce her work and talk through her process in person. Free, on view through October 31.
